FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ATLANTA, GA – June 24, 2003 – Future Stars Soccer Academy, which began youth soccer camps with exceptional, professional players as coaches, announces forming an Adult League comprised of teams competing in metropolitan Atlanta leagues in various age groups and divisions. The Club intends to enter these Adult teams into National Cup competitions, in-state and out-of-state amateur tournaments, and win championships.
Player benefits include: high levels of competition, year-round training, teams at each player’s age and ability, and a balance of soccer fun, training, and playing. Tuesday and Thursday summer training is offered on the campus of Oglethorpe University at a price of $50, which covers the club’s payment to the school, two (2) club training t-shirts. We hope to continue to have access to training fields in Alpharetta and Roswell. Players may also participate in several weekend scrimmages against similar competition as the club seeks to form teams for the fall soccer seasons in the Atlanta District Amateur Soccer League (ADASL), Roswell’s Over-30 League, the Cobb Amateur Soccer League (CASL), and indoor leagues. Club-sponsored teams will play in club kit funded by sponsors, which the club expects each player to help identify. ADASL teams may use Oglethorpe for a home field. This sponsorship and club fee will allow us to practice and play games on the fields of Oglethorpe University. We train in the gym (basketball court) in case of rain. We get to use the locker room facilities, which let you clean up after practice and head to our last amenity - the Buckhead bar-scene. This is a great opportunity to share experiences of a lifetime. Join to be part of these friendships, competitions, and high levels of soccer.
Ideally, we want to place at least four teams in Adult Leagues for the fall season. With four teams, we can organize our own league and manage these rosters to our advantage during National Cup and other tournament competitions. Control of our own league rosters enables us to create age or ability oriented winning rosters and/or move players from roster to roster depending on the tournament or league.
There are fees that the club must pay and therefore must be paid in part by players, with other expenses covered by sponsorships. Initially, there are fees to form Georgia Amateur Soccer Association (GASA) league run by our club. During the summer, the club pays rent to the University for fields. For the fall, the club will collect fees for league play by each team. One way to greatly reduce your playing fees is to create tax-exempt donations to Oglethorpe U. and give tax write-offs. The club will pay Oglethorpe University (a qualified 501.C.3 non-profit) for use of facilities. Sponsorship opportunities include: advertising in the media guide for the Oglethorpe University Soccer Program, advertising on board space (a weather-proof sheet-plastic 3’ x 5’ banner) posted around the Soccer field (attached to the fence), and various packages of these ads worth from $200 to $3000. Ask your employer to buy advertising that benefits the Oglethorpe Soccer Program. This is a tax write-off for you or your employer and these sponsorships may allow us to play free. Don’t forget that these sponsorships allow your business to reach the high-end clientele among the Oglethorpe community. Everyone wins when: Your Company buys an advertising package; Oglethorpe University receives a rental fee; our teams have fields; you play for free; and Future Stars Soccer gets publicity for adult team that wins championships.
